No J. Even the most honest folks occasionally lie. "I cannot tell a lie" comes from the mythological fable about George Washington. This story was created to promote Washington's noble honesty. It is fiction however: I lie in it's self you might say.

Yes, George Washington was quite an honest man, but look at reality. He was a General and a Politician, so the notion that he never told a lie just doesn't hold water.

Would I lie to save my life? Damn straight I would.
Would I lie to protect somone I care about if it was harmless and not purgeristic? You bet.
Does that make me a pathological liar? No.
Does it make me a bad person? No.

Even good honest folk find it nessesary to fib occasionally, so the "I cannot tell a lie" theory simply just doesn't hold water.

I have lied but not recently thank goodness. Unfortunately in life well I got myself into a set of circumstances that involved a series of lies. The worst lie of all is to lie to yourself.

Ascertain the reliability of the majority! Locus standi?!

I am sure, you remember, that we have the power to choose at any point in time, and we have "independent wills" to exercise our integrity, in any given moment of "choice." And all these "moments of choice," in which we exercise "our powers to choose with integrity, or otherwise" add up to make our lives...which is (are, if you prefer to ignore grammar and continuity) an aggregate of our choices called character. And each "individual character," is unique!

I do--but I have learned thru the years that you have to tell even more lies to cover the first one!

Now I just feel too guilty to lie!

i think of if we take an elementary history lesson, we can see that history is approximately to repeat itself... It replaced into Adolf Hitler who put in "community land protection" appropriate after the burning of the Reichstag; the German parliament. community land protection replaced into put in to "preserve the individuals" from anarchists and those 'like people who set the parliament ablaze'. (appears like how the 9/11 difficulty has performed out, does not it?) i think of you have a staggering thought of what transpired thereafter. If no longer, you may examine how community land protection "helped" the solid people of Germany interior the 30s.

Yes I do identify with it! If you don't believe me, then don't!
When I have tried to lie in the past, people just know I'm lying, so I just don't bother anymore! Better to be honest anyway! : )
