b.) 'monos' to be alone, to be first + (arkhein) ' archy' to start, then to rule

c.) 'oligoi' (few) + (arkhein) 'archy' - to start, and then to rule (high social command)

d.) 'aristos' (best) + 'cracy' - from kratia ('power, rule')
