I don't think there taking over, they normally just drop by with a question or two. Like several folks have already said, as long as they don't insult or offend, they are welcomed here. I'm sure that they would do the same if we dropped by their section. As a little test, I think I might drop-in over there and ask a question about getting a tattoo and see what happens!!!

No, I do not! This category is for the entire community of users who have signed on to this site. As I understand the guidelines, anyone who is over the age of 13 can ask, answer, or READ what others have posted on this site. The senior citizens category has the same rules & guidelines that all of the other categories do!

Sometimes you can see that they've just seen the word "senior" and wandered in here by accident......like the girl that was asking about the price of senior pictures for high school. Other times they knowingly come in with a sincere question or something positive to say. That's great and it's good to hear younger outlooks on things. But then you have the others that just come to be negative.....those are the ones we can do without!

I think it is absolutely adorable when they think we are seniors in high school. I liked the one last week about how much school pictures would cost.....my kids were in high school 18 years ago, so even though I couldn't give them a truthful answer, I am flattered that they make an inquiry. As long as they are not insulting, there is no harm

I guess I count as a kid (I'm 23). But I like reading the answers here, because people put more thought in and are generally more courteous. My mother (who recently got her master's degree and would slap me if I tried to call her a senior citizen) struggled to get into computers, never mind the internet. So I have huge respect for people who are willing to try new things later in life.

We're not really an exclusive group.
I'm flattered when young folks come here to ask genuine questions and give fresh views. They are the Seniors of the future and I respect them, especially when they recognize transparency, empathy, vunerability but safety in our midst.
I do!

I have noticed that some of the kids think that "seniors" refer to the ones in high school. So, once they are here, they go ahead and give their answers.

No one can take over anything in Yahoo! Answers. It is an "Open" forum and anyone can ask or answer a question in any category at anytime. Just overlook the ones you have no interest in. Remember also that there are many seniors that are contributing to Q&A's in adolescent categories.

I don't think so. Any more than any other site. I do think that the trolls have been abusing this site more than ever, but they are also abusing other sites just as much. Ignore them or just don't answer them. If you do, you will be placing yourself in jeopardy, because that is what they want you to do, answer. Then they can cite you for a violation, no matter what you answered because that is their only form of pleasure. Just be your normal self and answer or question as you normally would or would not and everything will be fine.

No I don't. All of these YA sites are open to everyone. I think a lot of young people want input from seniors. They in turn can contribute. Not all trolls are young.
