It is going to be so good. I can't wait just thinking about it. It's going to be a baked honey ham, turkey with some delicious gravy and stuffing, fried plantain, macoroni and cheese(with 3 different cheeses), sweet potatoes baked with marshmellows on top, corn boiled in mik, lasagna, rice and peas cooked in coconut milk.. For desert we'll have egg nog, with red velvet cake, chocolate mousse, and funfetti cupcakes my sister makes with rainbow sprinkles on top. You can't forget about the red wine that goes with the whole dinner. The rest of the kids have either sprite or hawaiin punch. We have the same thing every year, and it's the best.

For Christmas, I'd do this.... - Standing Rib Roast - Leek & Potato Gratin - Slow cooked green beans - Yorshire Pudding - Trifle for dessert All I know about New Years food tradition is that black-eyed peas and greens are supposed to be served. The black-eyed peas sybolize coins and the greens symbolize cash. If you eat them on NYE, you'll be wealthy in the coming year. Not sure about the pork except that pork goes well with the peas & greens.

I`ll be making the same dinner I have always made for the last 40 years. My family would revolt if I dared change it. Roast Turkey with bread and sausage stuffing, roast potatoes, carrot and turnip mashed together and Brussels sprouts. Trifle for afters of course.

2 separate menus, I have picky eaters!
Duck & seafood gumbo with shrimp, oysters, shredded duck, okra & a big pot of rice as a tradition. Smoked Turkey breast sliced, some fried deer steak, creamed potatoes & milk gravy, mac & cheese for the picky eaters! Hot rolls, pumpkin pie & apple pie. Sweet tea.

Always standing rib roast, baked potatoes, and salad. Then pies! Or once a lemon cheesecake trifle.

Nothing unusual. It is not what you get for dinner for the holiday, but how it can be sooooo good to eat together with your family and everyone
