because they would not make any profit as the food they sell is not as expensive as an Indian,Mexican,Chinese delivery

it would cost them more in petrol, they would probably bring the wrong order to your house, it would get cold etc

They do not deliver because there would be too many orders for them. It would be very hard for that type of service to send out all the correct orders when they have people working there for minimum wage. There is one McDonald's in Manhattan that delivers but you can tell how hectic it is for them because of the way their store looks. They have about 5 people who only deliver, and some who come back with the food in their hands because the people complained the food was too cold for them or just because they claimed they couldn't find it. Home deliveries might be able to work, but some sort of system will be needed to actually carry this out.

Most places that deliver have a minimum order requirement for deliver. Most places won't deliver for under $10. Most of my fast food orders are under $10. Now some places like Take Out Taxi in Houston, will deliver from restaurants that don't deliver, but rarely have I seen the likes of McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy's on the selected restaurants.

I think the one in or near Aspen Park , CO does. I was there on vacation at least ten years ago -- and I remember seeing the McDonald's delivery van in the parking lot. It might have only been used for special events though.

It's not practical for fast food restaurants to deliver. You can easily get a meal at any of the three for under $5 . . . in order to pay their drivers, cover gas and make a profit it would be necessary to charge at least $3 for most deliveries . . . why would you want to pay as nearly as much or more for delivery as you do for your food? Fast food also isn't going to travel well . . . do you want cold fries? Installing heat lamps in delivery vehicles would just drive costs up more.

KFC does offer catering . . .

KFC does deliver where I live.

Anyways, it'll cost the restaurant more money on gas and time than to deliver a $5 meal to you. If an employee was paid $7 an hour and to find your house and deliver it, gas would cost at least $5. Would you deliver the food to a customer if you're not making money and gaining a loss in profit?

Most places that offer that service usually have a £10 or thereabouts minium order, it would quite hard to eat £10 worth of Mc D's as it is so cheap, In a nutshell Id say that it would not be much of a profit for them, by the time they hire the drivers etc.

They don't do this because by the time they reached the customer it would be cold. To think how much extra they'd charge for the service would make it far to difficult to hide the actual price of a burger in a bun.

Because then people who are already 400 pounds overweight could get even fatter by not burning the calories it takes to walk to their cars.

I still say, make the entrance doors to all restaurants and grocery stores 14 inches wide. if you can't fit in, then sorry tubby, you better lose some weight and try again.

I think probably because the cost of the delivery would outweigh the cost of the food.
Whereas pizzas and other takeaway meals are quite a bit more expensive so (for the supplier) its worth the delivery costs to get that extra customer.
