Are these your children or the ones you teach? "good type"? Please, what on earth are you on about?
If you teach them (which I hope you don't, given the garbled way you pose the question), then the answer is simply that it's none of their flippin business.
To an extent, if they're your own daughters, that answer still stands. You are a grown woman and as such entitled to your privacy on such matters. Whatever your reasons, tell them if you like, but you certainly don't have to justify such a personal choice. If the girls are old enough to ask, then they're old enough to respect your decisions; if not, the answer is simply "because I'm the adult and you're the little girl".

Needs more info. Are you a teacher or are you a parent of school girls.
If you are the parent you just tell them that right now your only interest is in them. When they are 18 then you might start looking again. Tell them it was obvious you made a bad choice for a father for them and you do not want to make the mistake of getting them a bad step dad as well. Thats ofcourse if you are divorced.... You do not want to screw up their lives any more than it has already been.....
If your a teacher, get a different job....

Many people seem to think a person without a significant other will be lonely.
This is not always the case. Your mind is on something else at this time. tell people of your interest.
Enjoy what you are doing now and explaine that you are not in a rush.
Perhaps the people that would like to set you up with a date would also like to be that date.

School girls may be told frankly that you have no time to attend to them any more. Girls prone to know the facts and if your give remarks based on ground realities, they will understand your position and they will not tend for relationship with you any more.

Just tell them you're not interested in any relationship now.. Sheesh! You don't have to make excuses about it. If they think you're cheap or lying, as far as you're concerned, you're telling the truth. Just say it in a moral and mild manner so that to avoid others getting hurt.

Tell them you are only interested in getting your grades up, and giving priority to that. And if you a a Christian, then tell them, this is not where you are at at the present moment. If you have hobbies, tell them, that those are your main interests, they take up most of your time and also your studies.

Well tell them the truth you arnt intrested in a relationship now !
They will ask you why and just tell them the truth, because if you tell them some sh*t story and theye find out its not the truth theye will never speek to you again and thad eny chance you hade of dating them will be over !

Tell them that they are all you need right now..... They should be number ONE! Kids are kids one time and from me having been there..... when you split with someone they like for good reason, they feel worse then we do. That is reason enough.
