It's a tie between Cats, A Chorus Line (both seen in New York) and 42nd Street (seen in London).
Those all tied for second place.
The BEST musical I have ever seen was Camelot, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta with the late Richard Harris (yes, THE Richard Harris, famous from the "Man Called Horse" movies) as King Arthur.
Nothing could ever top seeing him live on stage. Wow.
