lost my disc driver cant download any new software or even play a cd/dvd the drive was called drive D but that drive has gone how do I get it back please

First of all, make sure it is connected properly inside of your computer, after making sure it is, access control panal via start menu, go into add hardware, and search for any hardware that is connected to your computer. It should detect the cd rom drive. If it does not, then you might have a virus or the disc driver is broken and you need to contact the manufacturer for warranties.

disc drivers are all microsoft
go into device manager and update the driver
see windows help files to find out how
