Actually we will never know who we are. We will never understand. But we wanted to survive.... We just hold to things we thin that would really keep us going on. For example, our own name, are we sure we are that person bearing such name? Certainly we will never know. But if holding on to such name will keep us survive then I think its better than having no name at all. I hope people would really have to ponder on what I have said.

Note: As much as possible I would like to lure people again on the technicalities of pure philosophizing. So please please, will just ponder deeper...

With all due respect, it seems you would want to know how to know who you are, instead. How can it be that someone does not know? Where is your confusion?
Take the simple approach first. Read something like "Chicken Soup for the Soul." or "Everything I Know I Learned in Kindergarten."
Or go back and revisit some books you read that gave you peace, and look to see why they gave you peace.
Go talk to a good friend, a parent, a grandparent, a member of the clergy, or a professional therapist, and talk about yourself, and ask about yourself. You can talk somethings out with your brother, but what you don't want him to know about you, talk to someone else about.

Knowing who you are is the most important thing about being conscious, and about really being alive. There is NO way to "keep it real" when reality about yourself escapes you.
Good luck, and I mean that.

great question, if everyone that reads this would only stop trying to answer it and think of what is going on all around them, it would be a good start. but everyone has an opinion some are all about themselves, and the stuff that is going on around them. keeping it real is not easy, in order for me to be real i would have to get off this damned computer and do something to change my lazy world, i fear most would agree.

Well then try to find yourself. Try to investigate everything in your life. Ask questions and if the answer is "mom always says or the bible says" try to figure out the meaning and think does my lifestyle know is mine or someone else forced me to have it?

OKAY. You might not choose me for best answer BUT! Try talking to God. He is the only one to help and no one else. If you put Christ(God) first you wouldn't have to worry about that.

When you don't really know who you are
be who you WANT to be.
Be who you ASPIRE to be.
Stretch to be the best you can be.

I don't.
And I don't care.

"I" do not exist.
"Reality" is a lie.
Nothingness is my destination.
