Unknown. The amount of sugar Poe used in his tea, if he even drank tea for that matter, seems something that is not very note worthy. However, you could try checking with the Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore's website to see what you can learn.

Methinks he used those "special" sugar cubes,,, the ones with the dot of liquid applied to the center..... wink wink nudge nudge say no more!!

Oh was that sugar, I thought it was opium......Sorry, couldn't resist. He was an addict though, it may have given him his ideas. His mind was a dark, dreary place.
