That's hard to compare jazz with Death metal. But If you go by number of albums, I'd say Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. They put out over 60 Albums and they are my favorite band of all time. But I'd have to say that Elvis Presley was the greatest. He's still selling hundreds of thousands of CD's a year, yet he wasn't around to know what a CD is. Millions of people visit his grave every year and he was responsible for bringing black music into the mainstream, opening the door for other black musicians and bands to record.
