I'd almost hate for them too, but with Zumaya out until July we may need him.

Absolutely. He was great for them this year and with Zumaya out until mid season and a thin free agent market Jones is a safe bet and probably relatively cheap.

he only blew four saves last year. even with that the tigers would not have made the playoffs if jones had been perfect.
here's why they need to keep him around. he many not be the best closer around, but he's damn good. and what's the difference between jones and just about every other pitcher on the tigers roster? he stayed healthy..........last year, the year before that and the year before that.
i'd take a pretty good healthy pitcher over a great one with injury problems. a healthy pitcher gives you a chance, a hurt one, gives you nothing.

no they should get a younger closing pitcher that will close out tight games at the end so they can have a chance in the playoffs especially in the central division. as for Todd Jones they should not re-sign him because he should re-tire.

Looking at your team for next year, I don't see a closer. Todd Jones used to be that for your team, no?

RE-TIRE Todd Jones, he's done. You can stick a fork in him!

Of course, he's the best closer in the American League.

End of story.
