I love my boyfriend very much but we i think have grown apart and more distant due to the hurt we endured in previous relationships before we got together. He and I have so much potential but our insecurities and problems (as different from each other as they are) are affecting our relationship.

He won't admit it, but I want us to be closer. He will always pretend everything is fine unless it becomes too much then he'd be strong enough to get out. But i keep, for the longest time, just wanted to give up and leave. But i have my own fears of intimacy and relationships and i know he does too, we are both great people, just have a lot of heartache.

What is a great book we can work on, no matter how expensive, that we can look at and get closer and learn about each other without having our walls up all the time.

Before him i dated a lot of people and got hurt and before me he dated soemone for a while but she cheated on him. We are both great and mean well but we have problems

Sit down across the table from each other, look each other in the eye and tell exactly what you feel. First the woman, you talk for 15 to 30 minutes, then the man. Tell all that bothers you, and what you want out of this relationship. If you don't know everything by the end of the day, then someone is not being honest.
