In Harvest Moon DS how do you get the Christmas stocking and how do you build a pasture for cows and sheep?

on christmas, thomas sneaks into ur house and tries to put a gift in ur stocking. but then he says theres no stocking and i cant recieve the gift. and how do u build a fence to keep ur cows and sheep in? i called Gotz but i didnt see the build a fence link thingy

befriend with Nina (at least 200 FP) and then give her yarn in the winter when she's inside her house
if she died already in your game, befriend with Galen (200 FP)

and you must build fences by yourself, just put lumber in your field
wood fences can rot and you must change it everytime it rots but stone/golden fences wont rot and make best fences

I can't help with the stocking, but fences I know.

Just get some material in your rucksack from either gathering it yourself, or taking it out of a shed if you have it. Then throw that material on the ground to form a fence.

Most material breaks down over time, use the hammer to destroy the old squares and just replace it with new material. You can pick-up and reposition unbroken material if you want to reshape your yard.
