Why would the clock lie?

It's lying to you. It's 4am where I live in the US. It's trying to play games with you don't let it. I suggest you throw it out the window....

Well, let's see now. Is the clock offering you money? I mean, what's in it for you, if you choose to believe the clock?
Then again, is the clock holding a loaded gun on your head?
Because, if so, I would recommend just nodding your head and agreeing with anything it said.
If you have nothing to lose, however, and nothing to gain, why go ahead and call your clock's bluff and see what happens.

It would depend where you are in the US. There are 4 different time zones and it might be 7pm in Atlanta but 3 pm in Reno.

It says its 4:11am here.
...not Monday, for you yet?
Going on 72 hours awake...for some reason I'm not tired, yet
(not surprising, to be honest..I go beyond 72hrs easily....genetics)

since the US has 6 different time zones.. from Maine to Hawaii.. it would be right somewhre I suppose.. at least a few times a night.
