It's never too old to go to college.

23 years old too late to start college? I'm the same age and I worry about the same thing. I'm returning to college to pick up where I left off. In my early college years I messed around, thus delaying graduation. Also, I really didn't know what I wanted as a career.

Now, that I'm back I feel out place, because of two things. First of all, alot of the people that I went to college with have graduated and are starting their careers. Second, I'm surrounded by a large number of 17 to 19 year olds

Though, I realized that there are people, like you and me, who think the same thing 'Am I too old to go to, or, back to college?' Don't be fooled, though! The "ideal" age to graduate at 20, is just what it is an "ideal" age. It maybe an ideal age to get out and start a career. Well, I guess some people really know what they want, rather it makes them happy or not. Also choices, situations, and how you manage yourself and college can affect your experience.

Don't worry what people think of you in college. For every one person like you there are also 5 other people like you. Just search the net with the same question, you'll find people with similar questions.

Nope, I think 18 is too young though! People should take some time off, explore the world, themselves and get some work experience in before deciding to go to college. I'm not saying wait until your 50, but there's no need to go to college directly after completely high school or doing a GED especially since many people who go from high school straight to college end up dropping out, switching majors frequently or are just going because they think formal education is the only road to success.

Education is never associated with how old you are. To be able to have an opprotunity to learn and to obtain knowledge is the way human beings thrive to be informed and to know and gain skills in order to prosper out into the world. why even people in there 30's and 40's still venture out in the college scene and they enjoy it. Everyday no matter how we age we are learning and there is never such a thing as being too old to acheive anything. We can still make changes in our lives when we are 20, 40 maybe even 80 and still see value in education. Trust me being 23 doesn't mean it's too old to experience a college education.

No, nobody is too old for education. I am a teacher (in Asia). Take this as an example. In the just ended semester, I had a 62 year old student.

Regardless of age, going to and finishing college is better than not have finished any degree at all.

No it's not too old, there are many people who are in their 30s or 40s who go to college because they may have never completed their education earlier for some reason.

It's a a brave step to take but worth it if you want to get a better job.

No, it's not. I read something saying that the average college student is between the ages of 25 and 30. I know someone that is becoming a nurse and is 42!

Absolutely not. At some schools, the average age of freshmen is 27 or 28, and there are always stories about someone who went back for his/her degree in their 80s or 90s.

I hope not!
I'll be entering as a freshman next year when I turn 21.

Lets just say I took a breather from school and now Im thrilled to be going back. I'm glad it doesn't sound like you and I will be the only non 'legal 18ners' as freshman.
