Zipped?
All you have to do is double click on the file, then on the side after you open it, it says:
Extract All Files
Then extract it, so you can open files from there.

It depends on what version Windows you have. Most modern ones like XP or Vista simply allow you to open them. But if you have 2000 or lower then you need to extract the file. It's pretty simple, simply right click the file, and it'll take you to winzip (assuming you have it of course). It will ask you where you want to extract the files, that means where do you want the files sent. After it asks that, if you have windows 2000 or older try typing this in. "C:\My Documents\Zip Folder Extracts\First Try". It'll create a folder on my documents called Zip Folder and when you open it it'll have a folder called First Try. Inside First try there will be your files. If you have XP or higher try typing in this. "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop". It'll extract your files to your desktop (only if you're the administrator. If you are the only one, you should be). A couple things you should know if there's any confusion. A zip file is used to compress data, or make it smaller, so it can't just be opened, it needs to be extracted, or in other words sent to a folder where it isn't compressed data but full data. So to answer your question truthfully, a zip file can't be opened, it can only be extracted/temporaryily extracted. Hope this helps!

Here is a good link where you can download winrar for here: http://bit.ly/1BooiXa

You can use winrar to decompress zip files and a bunch of other formats. Other good programs are 7zip and winzip but in my opinion winrar is the best one. Fuctionalities are pretty similar for all programs: basically you can decompress a file simply by right-clicking it and by choosing the destination folder.

Winrar is available for free under a trial licence. The good thing is the trial period never ends so you can use it for free with no limitations.

Winrar opens all formats like .zip, .rar, .7z, .iso, .tar, .jar etc. That's why I recommend it.

In order to do that you need to have a software to open it. Sometime you already have it. If not, head to www.download.com and download a free software that extract zip, rar, and etc. The one I use is called 7-Zip. Lot's of good reviews on that one.
