I'm old enough to remember seeing it from the start and enjoyed it very much. The Lone Ranger was played by Clayton More who was later sued for wearing the 'uniform' with dark glasses in public.
Tonto was played by Jay Silverheels who was at one time the fastest 'draw' in the West.
There is a saying that an educated person is one who can listen to the 'William Tell' overture, without thinking of the ;Lone Ranger'.

ahh yes indeed,I remember it well,riding off into the sunset on Tonto's Appaloosa and the Lone Ranger's white Bay.
I still don't know why they said he was alone,he was always with Tonto.A moot point of course,and it was great fun!!

Was a favourite of mine as a kid at the Saturday morning pics, a tanner, sixpence in old money to get in, cor that brings back some good memories.
