i keep closing it and re-opening it and that has always left me even more broken than before so i'm going to be closing it permanently

Yes. Only one case that I can say I totally closed my heart to someone.
It was someone in my past whom I loved dearly. We did a lot of things together and were very close. I always knew I loved him and he loved me. We both expressed it verbally and physically.
We were both SSG's in the military and after a few months I found out that he was married and expecting a baby. I would have never found out if his wife hadn't come to see me at my house.
Of course I had to tell him he wasn't any good for me and that we couldn't see one another except in our unit. He wouldn't leave me alone and definately wasn't giving up his wife either. He strung me along for a long time with lies and deceit. It taught me not to believe everything that comes out of one's mouth.
To this day he still contacts me and tries to fill me full of more lies about what good he could do for me.
Once a liar, always a liar.
I felt so badly for his wife. I let her know then and there on the spot that I would never see him again.
I had to close my heart to him because he was and still is manipulative and knows how to get next to me.
Sometimes love makes us weak but we are still responsible for the things we do.
Today I think how awful I would feel if my husband were doing to someone else what that man did to me.
Yes, I was guilty for caring, but his wife lived in another state and there was no sign of her anywhere. He took me to company and unit events and no one ever told me a peep.
It doesn't justify what I did but it did give me a reason to close my heart to him.
The saddest thing is that he was a true love of mine. I'd never felt so comfortable or at ease around anyone.
I'm married now and have been for 20 years. My heart is closed to him forever.

I am a loving and sensitive person. That's why I behave with my emotions and if I feel I am not being valued, I prefer to give some changes but if there is no improvement, I become indifferent.
That is why there are quite a few people who are out casted from my heart.

I've tried to close my heart to everybody, because I'm tired of being hurt, but it's an impossibility. Love can hurt a lot but it's a fun ride.

I always give chances. But when the others do not respond, yes, I do close my heart and mind. I delete.....

My heart is open to everyone who needs someone to care and love them but not everybody accepts it. All I know everybody needs someone to care for them.
