Wonder about UNESCO.
"A Philosophy of Universality," O. M. Aivanhov, "The Path of Virtue," Jonathan Murro, and "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, would be good companion reads.

I did not know that there was a World Philosophy Day (WPD)until I saw this Q. So I googled it to verify such a day existed and indeed it does. So I read upon it and learned all about it. This Year's WPD and I can now Answer your Q.
I will wish I could go to the Conference in Kenya. But knowing I can't, I will try to ask a few good philosophy Q's on the focus topic of that day. To wit:
"The objective of this Day is to encourage the peoples of the world to share between them their philosophical heritage and to open their daily reflections to new ideas, as well as to inspire a public debate between intellectuals and civil society on the challenges to which our societies are confronted today.
This year, from 14 to 17 November 2007 in Nairobi at the Kenyatta International Conference Center, World Philosophy Day will be celebrated in this land of dialogue and reflection. Already instigator of the proposition for a World Philosophy Day, a recommendation adopted by the Executive Board at its 171st session in April 2005, Kenya thus confirms its deep attachment to philosophy and the opening of each and every one to a constructive and free confrontation to the positions and opinions of the other. Kenya perfectly illustrates what one can call a “mixed identity”: the crossing of religions, of cultures, of memories, of forgiveness and of acceptations of modernism."
I also promise to A a few serious Q's that are posted at YA in honor and sympathy of the goals. I hope other YA participants will do likewise.
Thankyou for bringing this to my attention.
Here's something that worries me .The authoritarian trend that seeks to maintain social order by over using self-financing automated survellance technologies which could end up taking away our sense of liberty and our due process rights especially if the people we elect to positions of governmental authority are zero-tolerance advocates like President Bush43. I'll be asking Q's related to this concern.

Nothing. I think that would be the best way to pay homage to a day like 'philosophy day'.

I will follow heeltap's lead and try to post a Q or 2. Thanks for the heads-up. I too was unaware. I'm not a "real" philosopher; I'm just pretending.
