Good luck with that. Sidekicks are VERY hard to unlock. T-Mobile can't even get an unlock code for Sidekicks. Even if you were to manage to unlock a Sidekick, you wouldn't be able to use any of the data features. Sidekicks require special data servers from Danger, Inc., which can only be accessed through T-Mobile's network.

The only way you can use a T-Mobile sidekick phone onto Cingular network is to buy a "unlock sidekick phone." This unlock means that the software on the cell phone has been changed so that you can use that phone on another network otherwise the sidekick can only be used with T-Mobile.

Check on ebay for unlock sidekick phones.

From my knowledge you can't get the full tmobile effect without Tmobile service. You might have to cancel your cingular service or wait for the contract to expire. p.s. there are some cool phone with cingular/att that you can check out . Like the Iphone !

The short answer is yes, you can use it. You need to unlock it first. You'll be able to make and receive calls, send text messages.

However, you won't be able to use the internet/data function of the Sidekick, which defeats the purpose of having a Sidekick if you are not on T-Mobile.

There are all sorts if ways to hack phones, but in the long run it usually ends up costing a lot of money to do so. A lot more than buying out your contract in most cases. You would probably better off getting another phone or buying out your contract. the iPhone is great but be careful of the text messaging if you decide to get it there plan can make you go broke.
