Sounds like what a parent who is more concerned with their own vanity would name a child.
Not to insult you, but it is self serving, and not the best choice for a child. Unless ridicule is what you want for your child.

Calliope, is a very "free-spirited" name! Not something you hear too often, so she definately would not have to worry about being one of five in her class. She may not even have to worry about being one of two in her school!
Free-spirited, Unique and Airy! I think it's a Grand Choice!

Calliope would be a cool name. I like it, since there is a bird called a Calliope Hummingbird. It is the smallest bird in the North America. I'd say go for it.

I think it is pretty but not practical. I think people will mispronounce her name her whole life. I think with the last syllable being pee she will be made fun of until high school.
When I think Calliope I think of calliope music, which always struck me as kinda sinister. (You know the music they used to play on old time carousels?) Calliope what? If you are liking the nickname Callie for Calliope, try Callisandra Rose.

it makes me think of the circus instrument. But i actually think it's pretty. And if she ever feels the name is "too big", she could always go by Callie. I think unique names are fine as long as more common nicknames can come from them. That way, kids have a choice and can fit in or stand out as much as they want. But i think Calliope/Callie is nice.

It reminds me of going to Disneyland because they have a calliope there behind the Dumbo ride (it's a type of organ). The music is beautiful, but I don't think that I would name someone that. Just my opinion...

The name Calliope means a musical instrument or item. That is the first meaning I think of so I would assume someone named that would have something to do with music. A word of caution for anyone considering this name for a baby. It will always get misspelled and mispronounced. Sorry

Funny, the only time I have heard of the time Calliope was a character on the daytime soap Days of Our Lives years ago. So I automatically think of her when I hear the name. She was a ditzy and funny girl.

I think of someone who was on a TV show, Calliope Jones and she was pretty and funny and really cute. I forgot the show but I remembered her name and her. It's an unusual name but I think it's really pretty.
