Nalbandian is playing his best tennis at the moment, If he continues to play at this kind of level then the rest of the field is in trouble!, It's crazy if you watch the final!!!

You should not worry. Nalbandian is a great competitor and I'm a huge fan of his. But sad to say, his greatness comes sporadically. He'll fall into a slump again and choke on big matches in 2008... he has had this pattern for years now.

Also, he may do well in small tournaments, playing 3-4 matches, but he can't maintain this consistency during a major.

Well considering Nalbandian was injured for the first part of the year and is now fully energized and peaking. Whereas, everyone else are tired from the full schedule they had to go through. I'm happy for Nalbandian for regaining his form of old but these matches don't really mean much to Federer. It's the majors that Federer cares about and he'll be in top form when those come around next year. Besides, I doubt Nalbandian can keep up with his hot streak as he is a up and down player. He's like the young Agassi where when he's ON then he can beat anyone but otherwise he can suck big time.

Im certainly not worried, Nalbandian is my fav player on the ATP tour. Watching his backhands down the line and his all-court game come into play is so great to watch. When he is "confident" i'll back him against anyone but his confidence does not sustain as long as that of Federer (whole year) and Nadal (the whole year until after Wimb). Can't wait to see the Top 4 Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Nalbandian go at it in the slams next year. Those 4 especially Federer have made tennis rise to standards never seen before and hopefully its going to be even better in 2008

People seem to forget, that Nalbandian was the # 3 player in the world at one time. I still believe that Federer will take at least 2 majors in 2008, tying Sampras' record. Nalbandian has proven that he can be a legitimate threat in 2008. Worried ? Not just yet !!!!!!

Nalbandian was always the second best player in the world after Federer, ever since the juniors. He's been injured and out of it for almost a year, I wasn't sure he could come back. But it's great to see that he's back, that's the most important thing. I think next year he'll be able to win a grand slam tournament. He's like Agassi when he came back in 1994 and became the real Agassi, the number 1 of the world.

You shouldn't be worried! You should be happy that there is more competition! I'm a huge Roger Federer fan, and I'm very happy that someone else is playing well also. It will make Roger play even better.

But if you are still worried....I don't think that Nalbandian can keep it up. There is always somebody who goes on a hot streak and seems to be the heir apparent to Roger Federer.

Well I'm thinking the reason that both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer lost is because there is a major tournament comming up(Shanghai), and the top qualifying players probably don't want to injure themselves. If you watch the game both Nadal and Federer seem to not be playing at their best, especially Nadal who shouldn't have even decided to play. But Nalbandian is pretty good, probably one of the best tennis underachievers next to Marat Safin.

No, I'm not worried. I do think it is great to see how well Nalbandian has done. His match win/loss record against Feder is pretty even now at 8-8. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2008.

Why should I or any fan of tennis be worried about this? We should welcome this sudden turn of excitement being brought back into the men's game. Too much Federer/Nadal dominance gets pretty boring after awhile. Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Richard Gasquet are my favorites though, but I'm glad to see Nalbandian make this late comeback at the end of the season. I just hope he continues with this form next year.

i ain't worried, i'm very happy that someone can be out there making Federer and Nadal worry about their chances to defend their titles, good luck to Nalbandian, I hope Federer and Nadal get some good competition from him in 2008...
