First you have to find out where the mouse got in. I highly doubt a mouse would make a nest in the oven, they usually hang out in cabinets.
If you have one mouse you know of chances there will be more. Block all access points with steel wool, make sure to put all food in sealed containers.
There are several trap options, lethal but humane electric traps like the Rat Zapper which works on mice too and tip traps which catch the critter live.

If you know someone who has a cat, you can arrange for the cat to stay with you for a week or so. That should be enough time for the cat to catch it and any other mouse that you might not know about. Sometimes it only takes one mouse to enter your house before more start popping up all of a sudden.
Or you can also use a non-lethal trap and have someone else release the mouse if you don't want to deal with it. For bait you can use peanut butter or sandwich meat on a cracker. Check with your local supermarket, or hardware store, etc.. They should have some non-lethal catch-and-release mouse traps, if not you can build your own.

Well, this is going to be a mousetrap, but it is a LIVE mousetrap.
Instead of it snapping the mouse's neck and spine, the mouse crawls into it and the little door shuts behind it and then you can release it.
It is very safe, it isn't gross, and you're saving it's life!

Unless it's somebody's escaped pet, you have more than one.
And I don't see any alternative to trapping it, alive or dead.
They sell live traps at the hardware store.
Then look carefully to figure out where the mice are getting in, and close the holes.
