My boyfriend's cousin has a 3 year old named Jackson and he is the cutest thing ever. They also call him Jack. I think this may be your best choice. I like Carter because it isn't so popular, and I like Joseph better than Josiah if you were to nickname him Joey. Hunter reminds me of hunting animals or the color Hunter green and Austin is really cute. I've always liked that name.

I don't think you have any bad names but Jackson is the cutest. Congrats and good luck!

I like Austin and Joey. Hunter and Carter are being over-used. Jackson sounds better as a last name than as a first and Josiah works if the kid is Amish or Menonite.

Hunter? Isn't that someone that kills animals? Not good!
Jackson? Might as well nickname him "action" right now.
Austin? Don't name him after a crap city in Texas.
Carter? A crap president.
Josiah....I doubt anyone will call him by that or call him Joey. Joey is short for Joesph...one of the most boring and over used names ever.

I vote for none of the above.

I like all of them. But I will give you the meaning of each names to help you choose best.

The boy's name Austin is of French origin. Variant and oral form of Augustine, contracted by everyday speech. Enjoyed some popularity in England as late as the 17th century. Now most often a surname used as a given name. Saint Augustine (seventh century) was sometimes called Austin. In America, the name carries Western association due to Stephen Austin, a frontiersman and one of the founders of the Republic of Texas. The state capital is named in his honor. The "Austin Powers" movies, though, have probably disqualified it from use for a whole generation of future parents.

Carter is of Old English origin, and its meaning is "one who transports goods". Occupational name and surname. Former President Jimmy Carter; football player Cris Carter.

The boy's name Josiah \j(o)-siah\ is pronounced jo-SYE-ah. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "Jehovah helps". Biblical: king of Judah at age eight after his father was assassinated, Josiah ruled well for 31 years. Porcelain entrepreneur Josiah Wedgwood.

Jackson means son of Jack

Hunter can be a girl or a boy's name meaning pursuer.

I like all of them but if were to choose only one Austin or Carter is okay.

Jackson or Jack is simple, traditional and yet not necessarily common. So that's good.

Hunter...too common

Austin...good, interesting

Carter...good, interesting (I work with a guy named Steve Carter. We call him Carter)

Josiah (It's okay. But not as good as the other choices. Joey is on the cutesy side. He'll just be called Joe later on...boring)

I know 3 friends that named their son Austin.
There are 2 boys in my son's class named Jackson.
My friend has a son named Isaiah.

I like Josiah, Hunter, Carter in that order.

Hunter definitely. I like Jack as well, but not Jackson. What about Ethan, Xander, Peyton, Elijah. Just suggestions.

I have a cousin Hunter, and a cousin Austin, and a friend whose baby is Jackson. I actually like all the names. I would pick Carter since I wouldn't want to name my own child after someone I knew.
