I just don't know what colors to use without it making me look completely washed out.. I have fair skin but I still want it to look nice like nicole kidmans or reese witherspoons...

what do you suggest?

Coffee brown eyeliner instead of black will make your lashes look more lush.

Taupe, soft gray & champagne eye shadows w/ a hint of shimmer are good option.

Sheer lip colors that are within 1-2 shades of your natural lip color will brighten your face w/o being too dramatic. Berry or soft plum shades would be a good place to start.

I think your coloring is a lot like Renee Zelleweger & suggest you look at photos of her in fashion magazines like InStyle for more make up ideas.

your skin isn't as pale as nicole kidmans at all i'm sorry. you're more of a beige color. try using a color with a little bit of a yellow/tan tone. you want to pick a color that has the same level as your skin, you're probably picking make up out that's lighter than you are which is what makes you look washed out.
my skin is very pink sometimes too, and the yellow helps even out the redness.

the classic method of color matching is to blend the make up to the back of your hand. they're not the same color, but they're similar...

i normally use covergirl products. the advanced radiance powder is fabulous, and really smooth and doesn't feel make upy at all. i usually blend it with a brush after applying it to make sure it's extra natural.
i also like CG smoother "all day hydrating make up" it doesn't dry out your skin and it goes on pretty evenly too. there is also a tinted moisturizer under the cg smoother line that i love.

also if you have dry or oily skin make sure you moisturize after you wash your face. i think aveno is the best and clinique dramatically different moisturizer for really bad days.
i think that moisturizing in the long term can be better than any make up.

Don't underestmate the power of brown eyeshadow. It seems boring or safe, but you can get a lot of drama without looking garish. Your skin looks good already, just use a pale toned pressed powder (look for a "beige" rather than "ivory" shade, though, so it does't wash you out) to give you an even finish. I'd stick with pinks on the cheeks and lips.

Fair skin people, like me, have a hard time matching skintones with makeup.I find that covergirl never gets it pale enough to match me, theres always aslight orange or pinkness to it. I never try to match with my hand, goto a makeup place like sephora or even a department store and have them try it on your face. Your hands are rougher then your face, making makeup sit differently on them not to mention that the color is different. When trying makeup at a store do not buy into it right away, get a sample. try it for a few days and especially in natural light. I like clinique and shu uemura makeup. to try to not look washed out i use blush or dandelion from benefit to wake my face up. I have also heard good things about mineral makeups but im too cheap to try them out.

go to cvs walgreens any drugstore grocery - pick out light colors hold it to your hand if there is no seal or a tester laying around put it on your hand and smooth it in if its not totally dark on your skin to make it look like your wearing a mask your good to go.. certain eye shadows will help it blend better maybe even a brown eye pencil try out different colors on your eyes to go with fair skin i have fair skin and i change my hair color and make up style like its nothing because you can do alot with it
good luck.

youre very pretty! i have fair skin too.. i use a lot of cool colors. it looks like you have cool undertones in your skin, but hard to tell from a picture. if you do have a cool skin tone, like me, you should wear cool colors, nothing too warm or anything like any red-brown or any warm green colors. they can make you look washed out. i think gold colors can look pretty, depending on your eyes. since your blonde, you could use about any of the cool colors (blue, metallic light green, and just about any metallic colors, silver, black, pink, white) . brown is universal, it looks good on just about anyone and doesnt make them look washed out. make sure your blush matches your skin too, i think a natural pink color would look good.

stay gentle. do no longer look frightening. For green-gray eyes, i might propose green or gray eyeshadow, through fact hazel eyes could be extremely troublesome. common black eyeliner is sweet. positioned on a sheer blush in a nude-pink color - be careful to no longer look feverish. and gentle-weight pink lipstick is often attractive with trustworthy pores and skin and green eyes. positioned on sparkling gloss over it in case you like.

i use loreal brand. The stick concealer is pretty good, and use their lightest shade, then dab on a few powder. Any brand would do, as long as you just put a light coat of it.

avoid too much pink, pastels can look nice, avoid too dark colors, they may make you look even more washed out.
