Actually, I think your name is pretty. In the US its uncommon and rather interesting. If you don't hate your name, I'd keep it. No reason to change it unless you really want to. Common American names become boring. Its cool to hear new ones that sound exotic and rich.
My opinion, keep it. I could give you a ton of names to change it to, but you have a nice name and should be proud of it.

No your name isn't ugly. You should be proud of who you are and of your heritage. I went through something similar too though. My last name is of German decent and I've never liked Patrick. People used to tease me about being German saying that I was a Nazi (even though my family fought in Europe for the Allies in WWII) and they would call me Patty. But you know what? I am very proud to be who I am. I am named after a saint, and I come from a line of strong men who have proudly served our country. Learn more about your family history and you may be surprised by what you find out.

I don't think so, and who's to say what an "American name" is anyway, there are so many races and cultures in the US, it's impossible to say that a name is "American". Everyone in the US is an immigrant or descendants of immigrants anyway, (except for Native Americans).

No, don't change your name. It's pretty, and besides, it IS American! Every name in the book is American. That's what makes us so special! We don't have to change to fit in, we are in already. I just have one request. If you speak a language other than English, please speak English around people who don't speak or understand anything else. It makes them feel left out. I work in an office entirely of Filipinos, and they rarely speak any English, and I feel very left out. I love them all, and I don't believe that they do it to make me feel bad, but it does.

Why would you even consider such a thing? Converting to an american just to fit in? Noway. Keep your name, it's unique and different; your parents named you and heck, you.. if not having a brother, will carry on your name. Be different, love who you are! Embrace yourself.
