You want colors that will complement your skin tone as well as enhance your eyes. Here's how to determine yours.
Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.
Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.
Blue makes brown standout.
Navy eyeliner tight against the upper lash line is a very elegant way to wear blue.
A coat of navy mascara over black mascara will make the whites of your eyes look whiter.

Im a Marykay Beauty Consultant. I too have brown eyes and brown hair. I wear a lot of colors. For instant, I use a color called Moonstone all over the eye area. In the crease use Vintage gold eyeshadow and then blend. You can use Bronze liner or a deep brown with that. Purples, java, cinnabar, browns, cranberry is just a few. Brown eyes and brown hair can just about wear any color of eyeshadow. I wouldn't wear a light blue though. Hope this has helped you.

- it depends on how bold you want to be.
CASUAL:
1. Go for a shimmery neutral eyeshadow color. (browns/golds/ivories)
- one tone - use a shade on your whole lid and the crease.
- two tones - if the shades are pretty dark. use the darkest on the crease, and the less dark color on the lid. if one shade is dark and the other very light: use the darker on the lid and crease, and the other above.
- three tones - medium on the lid, darkest on the crease, lightest above the crease.
2. Use Black/Brown Eyeliner on the teardrop lines - top & bottom. (L'Oreal or Covergirl)
3. Apply a lengthening mascara. (Telescopic works well for the price.)
BOLD:
1. Use a high pigmented shadow. (H.I.P & Mac shadows work well - colors: shades of blue/ purple are best, greens and pinks work well too:)
2. For blues and purples (eyeshadows) use a dark blue eyeliner, Midnight blue by Covergirl works great and try Plums, othewise stink with black. Apply the same as above except put on top of the upper lash line as well.
3. Same as CASUAL. (cept add more.)
Extra Tips:
1. always wash off your makeup, it gives you a clean slate, helps prevent eye infections, and etc.
2. Nude Lips focus attention on your eyes.
3. Always use a eyelash curler if you dont have much curl naturally.. it makes you look more awake, and your eyes pop more.
4. Keeping eyebrows neat makes your eyes pop more.
5. You can also apply eyeshadow from the inner corner to the outter corner. Switching shades.. ex: White on the inner corners to blue on the outter corner. -- or just going lighter to darker.
6. Dont overdue your makeup often. People get used to seeing your makeup face - as you. If one day you show up without makeup, you'll look, well usually less attractive. So keep it simple most of the time, and spice it up once in awhile.
--- Hope I Helped!

Ive already read that purple and green are good color choices, but I think it can be kinda tacky. I always stick to a a deep brown shadow on my crease and beige shimmer on my lid and black liner it really makes my eyes pop and i have brown eyes.

I like many colors for brown eyes, it also depends on your face tone and other factors like hair color. You can go to http://www.chicaconglamour.com for some good tips. Personally I like a gold sparkley make up or a nice blue hue.
Good Luck!

use plum colors, i think that a plum shadow with a dark brown eyeliner would look awesome, unless you're like me and have solid black lashes.
