Horse Like Pungent Steak, Snails Like Rubber And Frogs Legs Like Chicken. The French Are Not The Only People That Eat These Things.

I lived in France for 13 years but have only eaten snails once- in Vermont! Garlic was the main flavour, underpinned by distinctive texture of slimey snail. NOT an altogether pleasant experience. Frogs' legs are, I believe from people who've had them, an extremely small sliver of something that is a little like chicken, and is in my view a senseless waste of whole frog for the amount you get. Not very economical. Unless you eat those huge American bullfrogs, and they may be worth your while.

It's probably 20+ years since I last tasted either. From what I can remember though, snails are pretty tasteless and were served with a dressing to add flavour I think it had a slightly rubbery texture - not tough though. Frogs legs were a bit like tiny chicken legs, only with an extra 'knee' joint. The links are added for your interest.

Never been to France, but frogs legs taste very similar to white chicken meat, only more tender. Snails I've typically had prepared with mushroom caps, cheese and seasonings - they don't have a very strong flavour of their own, but texture-wise they are somewhat comparable to shellfish, like clams or periwinkles - a touch chewy.

I've eaten both and snails aren't too bad. Remember, they are related to many of the creatures that come out of the ocean that people like to eat. Frog legs are nothing special. I didn't hate them wen I tried them but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat them again.

Yes.
Snails have little taste and depend on the garlic butter they are cooked in for flavour.
Don't eat frogs' legs . Most of them come from India where the processing is very cruel.
