No. You're probably just accepting Reality. The way our Society is structured nowadays, it really IS extremely difficult (& unlikely)- that you're going to be able to get a high paying job Without that little, "Piece Of Paper...". There is SO much Competition in Todays Business world...-If you don't have the Credentials, then you're probably NOT going to get the Salary you're seeking... So chalk this Reality up being a Learning "Experience"- and Good Luck, with your Appointment tomorrow... :)

Getting a hiring advantage is defeat? I don't get that part of it.

Finish whatever you can. Then get a job at a place with education benefits, and soak them for as much as you can.

A GED is better than nothing. An Associate's is better than HS or GED. A BS/BA is better than as Associate's. And so on.

After working for 20+ years, I went back for a degree, got it, and got the coolest job on earth - at least, I think so. I also teach, as a second job, helping other people get their degrees. I also volunteer with a group that helps blind and dyslexic students. Think of me as the education poster boy.

PS: Ignore Robert D. He's just trying to be a snob. I could do that too, if I wanted, but it would just mean I was a jerk.

Admitting defeat? I'd say you are avoiding it.

It is a thinking error to view education as a defeat. I can only imagine that you considered yourself out of the norm and that you could make decent money without a degree, therefore "proving everyone wrong," so to speak. Since you did not you're "defeated?"

Don't think of it as admitting defeat. Think of it as maturing.

Good luck!
(Oh, and ignore Robert D's post above this one. He's apparently the sort of person that needs to put others down to feel better about himself; the "go home and kick the dog" theory. People who feel like victims all day and who are treated poorly in life that don't stand up for themselves but instead just wait until they get home and they kick the dog because the dog won't fight back.)

Again, good luck!

Even if you never use the skills you acquire in ITT Tech, bettering yourself with education is not a bad thing. It matters little where you go to school as long you apply yourself and do the very best you can. I'd wish you luck, but luck has nothing to do with it. Being capable does.

I in no way provide up till the time is over. existence is a activity yet you will possibly as nicely play relatively and all out as you will omit some very rewarding reviews via in basic terms giving up and admitting defeat. It instruments up a greater appropriate techniques-set for the next day and or activity.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but, ITT Tech is not a college.

And I don't count an Associate's as a real college degree. It's more of a "I tried, but couldn't get through the whole thing" degree.

Sorry, just my opinion.

Never admit defeat, defeat is bad for you, very bad, in fact, very very very bad for you, killed my best friend, people that admit defeat usually don't suceed and die before their 150th so I would live with more optimism and live everyday like its your first in order to suceed and kill it off, because you want to reach that spot, yes, I know Stephan Hawking could be right about his next 100 years prediction of human race problems and other mayhams and mishaps and bla bla bla, and that people that get old look like wrinkle kings and queens and so forth, but they also break records as Wikipedia shows, so you know, the mind must do what it gotta do, has to do, damn must do, and stay positive for the next, well at least 100 years, that is the one and only way despite all the shenanigans and despair in this cold hearted world, so you have to go for it like you haven't gone for anything in this world and stay strong so just remember my words and go go go, it is possible just like our great ancestor friend that walked on water too, so my point is very good, and super duper cool in its critically acclaimed self-riteous stance!

No, you are NOT admitting defeat. You are maturing. Congratulations. Don't stop at the Associates degree; get at least a Bachelor's.

Good for you!! You can do it, and you will have such a sense of accomplishment when you get that degree, besides knowing that you will always make a lot more money each year than you would have, without the degree.

That's not true, there are lots of good paying jobs out there. Take for example me, I'm a bartender and about half my income isn't reported (most of my cash tips). It's cool cuz I can save my paychecks and use my tips for groceries and gas and other minor expenses.
