I mean c'mon! He tryed like 6 times to kill harry, with magic. After like the second o r third try wouldn't he just pull out a gun and pull the triggor? Everyone says Voldemort was brilliant, and I agree, but why the hck didnt he just blow harry's brains out. One little pull of the triggor instead of all the magic mumble jumble.

PS I am a fan of harry potter, and I love all the characters, and I understand it would be a bit anti-climatic, but it would be smart!

Voldemort wouldn't use a weapon because he opposes non-Wizard methods. Simply put, a philosophical view that narrows his mindset. He'd never even think of the idea.

Now, the real question is: Why not Harry? He was raised by muggles, and never had a hatred of muggle things. Why then did Harry not shoot Voldemort?
Because guns aren't as prominent a part of the English thought process as they are of the American thought process. Chances are the thought never would have popped into his head either.

For those who argue that magic would stop the bullets: Yes, but only if the wizard being shot at had time to cast a spell. I'm betting the surprise of having a gun pulled would cause a long enough delay for any wizard to get shot.

Put simply: Harry and Voldemort where both influenced by socio-cultural biases that would prevent them from coming up with the idea of using fire arms.

Yes it would be smart but most of the viewers expect magic. They don't want Voldemort to kill Harry that way because then you loose all the excitement. They like the action with the magic and the intensity it brings. That is the magic of the book, of the movies! If you really think that should have happened you should write your own version of Harry Potter. Than you and everyone else would be happy! Hope this helps!

One of the odd things about Voldemort is that even though he thought he was undefeatable, he made mistake after mistake. I think that's why Dumbledore wasn't frightened by him- he knew that Voldemort could be beaten.

Voldemort had way to much trust in his own abilities. Therefore, as he is ultimately perfect and ultimately the strongest and best, he should be able to kill Harry the normal way.

Then there's the whole "muggle weapon" thing. Why should the mugglehating Lord Voldemort resort to devices used by muggles? That's what you use when you have no magic.

Hmmmm, Voldemort hated muggles and anything to do with muggles. Why would he resort to using a "filthy muggle weapon" to kill Harry? He wouldn't, he'd be more intrested in proving that every thing in the magical world was ten thousand times superior.

Give me a break.....The whole point of a story is to develop all kinds of interesting things that make the tale take a long time and keep people buying books. Your way is no better than a news report on TV... Boy gunned down by man in a black cape...full report at 10:00pm on channel 5!!!

OK - so Voldemort didn't shoot Harry because he hated all "filthy muggle things".
Then answer me this:

WHY THE HECK (excuse the language) DIDN'T HARRY SHOOT HIM????

Did Harry have something against "filthy muggle things"? No. Could he carry one? Yes. Would Voldemort be able to react in the split-second following the shot? No. Would Voldemort die? Yes.
Thank-you, I rest my case.

But seriously, I loved the books.

He had Dr. Evil Syndrome. Pulling out a Glock and shooting Harry in the head would be too easy.

Because Harry could say "Bullitamus Stoppimus!" Just playing, if he would just shoot him then the story line wouldnt be so good.

because he is a WIZARD and he probably didnt know anything about guns and even if he did he wouldnt give it much importance because he thinks he is the most powerful person ever. he woulnt want to take a muggle made thing's help to fullfill his task.

Because Harry wasn't allowed to die... I mean, come on, hit by the Killing Curse HOW many times, and he still lived? (And... how many other people even survived one hit??) I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be bullet proof, wear red and blue spandex, and be secretly a survivor from the planet Krypton.... lol!
