Being of Italian origin but born and living in Greece where Nobility tradition does not exist, I did not pay any attention to my heritage.
When I came to realize that I'm the last descendant of families the history of which date back almost 1.000 ago, first i panicked and then I came to first respect and then be proud of my heritage.

As an Anglo-Saxon American, it's hard sometimes to do that. My ancestors have more than likely been party to some pretty rotten things. On the other hand, my personal heritage of the last few generations is something I embrace quite freely and I'm very proud of the people who got together and mixed their genes to make me. :)

Very much so. I'm American Irish and my Father is 100% Irish. Out of six kids I am the only one who has the red hair, the fair skin with the freckles and green eyes. I've visted Ireland twice and want to retire there. I still have a lot of family there and would love it!!!

Which one? I'm a mongrel! While I have had many, many moments wishing I had been raised Jewish, I'm very grateful to my parents for their NOT raising me Irish Catholic. If anyone ever wants to feel ashamed of being Irish, he only has to live in Boston for a short while.
