With the exception of the Minnesota Wild, every team plays the run and gun style with at least one of their lines. Ottawa is far and away the best at this approach with the Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza line. The NHL's league leading goal differential is proof enough.
I've seen 9 New Jersey games this year, and I've yet to see much of a run and gun offence from them, it is more of a balanced attack - similar to Detroit, Calgary, Colorado, and Philadelphia. All part of the slow and steady wins the race theory.

Define run and gun and defensive and I will let you know.
Ottawa uses a 2-1-2 forecheck with F3 sealing off the weak side rather than being high. Then they use a mid board cycle trying to create cross crease opportunities.
New Jersey uses a 1-2-2 trap trying to move the breakout and rush to the boards, while protecting the mid ice lane. Once in the zone they use a F1,2,3 defensive zone coverage.
A lot of teams do exactly the same thing, just some are better at it than others.

Over the years and including 2007/08 Ottawa has easily out classed most teams when it comes to "Run and Gun" combined with defense...check past years stats and compare goals against average with goals scored.

Attacking style - but only if he could change the rules. Regardless of who attacks his team, he will always attack Iraq. He would rewrite the rules to have 3 teams playing at a time - the US team, the Iraqi team and the other team. Sadam is behind all attacks on the US, didn't ya know?

Detroit is really the only team that does both as their Primary game plan's.
Their offense is all run and gun which in turn requires them to play less Defense. while i personally believe they play this way because of lack of defensive talent. They are fair at the Defensive protions of the game.
Ottawa is Second but thier not even close to matching Detroit.
SJ and Colorado would be 3rds
and L.A's style is Semi-Run and Gun but without the defensive ability

Yeah that's right. Another team that likes to play run/gun is the Avalanche. We're always buzzing around the opponent's net. We need to shoot more and pass less though.

You mean NJ plays the defensive style right? Cause they do NOT play run/gun, lmao.

I think every team does in situations... You have to have a good puck moving defenseman on the ice. I guess the question is... how many teams have that in abundance...
