Alright, I have this close guy friend and were always hanging out together. I have pretty much fallen for him and just haven't mentioned anything b/c I don't think he feels the same way. BUT I found out something about our relationship I hadn't before...were related by marriage. My uncle married a woman from a family I really don’t know too many of. This family I'm speaking of had someone along the line marry someone he is related to. So technically were sorta cousins. But both of us have no blood relation and really I don't know wat we are to each other in that respect b/c I didn’t know the people that married on his end b/c the people are not close relatives that I know of to my aunt. Either way its a link between us thats seems to make things weird in this respect b/c of the whole ‘family’ thing. I REALLY like him that way and flirt with him all the time sometimes I think he might feel the same way. He doesn't know about this yet so only I do. Is it okay still to try and be with h

i say that it's okay for you to be together. you had no idea at first right? there is no blood relation and if you really like each other, then go ahead. I'm not saying that dating family is okay, it's just that if you are distant cousins then it's okay. like.. generations of people can marry into families and not know that they're marrying their marrying or dating their 6th cousin or something. somethings are just lost as years pass by. and you never know who else you're related to. so as long as their is no blood tie, and it's super distant, it's okay.

Let me see if I got this right...Your uncle married a woman. That womans family married someone in your guys family? So your related through marriage, through marriage? If that is the case, heck you can marry him! that means nothing.
I mean you go far enough back and you will see alot of relations you never knew of.

You can date people that you are related to by marriage. There is not a blood connection.

Your not related by blood so yes, it would be okay for the two of you to have a relationship.

There shouldn't be a problem if you're related through marriage and not blood. I don't see anything wrong with it and those who do, that's there problem.
