No, once a miscarriage has started, there is nothing they can do. But just blood doesn't mean a miscarriage, it could also be implantation bleeding.

There are a lot of variables that go into that. There isn't really anything that you on your own can do, and like someone previously commented, blood doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage. My wife had a miscarriage a few years, ago and unfortunately by the time she got to the doctor it was too late. With her last pregnancy though, she had some bleeding and complications, and the doctors put her on restrictions, not bed rest, but high risk. Then you just have to take it easy. Now we have a beautiful girl that just turned one year old.

The best thing to do is to see your doctor.

well... it may and may not be. There are more reasons you may be seeing blood other than a miscarriage. During pregnancy there are other conditions such as threatened abortion in which a uterus will bleed without contraction and cervical dilation. However the pregnancy still continues and the mother is watched over carefully and recommended for bed rest. You should be calling a doctor to find out exactly what it may be because there are more severe conditions that may be fatal to both mom and baby if you are late in pregnancy.

This is something that should be handled with an exam and proper health history of yourself. Yahoo is not the correct method of finding the answer you need.

Most miscarriages are nature's way of getting rid of a malformed fetus. If you have repeated miscarriages, then the doctor will look into other problems like genetic disorders, problems with the cervix holding the weight of the pregnancy, etc. I had a miscarriage and the dr. said that even if he could stop it, the baby probably did not develop correctly and it would be best to let nature take its course.

If you are having a miscarriage there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it, especially if you are in the first trimester. It has been shown that bed rest does not necessarily help women in the late stages of pregnancy and it does not help women in the first trimester. A small amount of blood does not always mean you are having a miscarriage, it may be something very simple.

Some women have blood spotting in the early monthes of pregnancy, but it later goes away and they have a normal pregnancy.

If it is more than just spotting, and is accompanied by pain then it is serious and you should see a doctor immediatly, or rather go to the hospital. But there is nothing you can do to stop a miscarriage.

Blood alone does not necessarily mean miscarriage, there are many causes for some light bleeding and spotting, especially in early pregnancy. But it's best to call the Dr. to be sure whether or not it's something serious.

This is a very sensitive subject for me.... because i misscarried once at 8 weeks, then had a late term miscarriage at 22 weeks. Sadly, if you've began a miscarriage, there can't be anything to stop it, because the baby is no longer alive. It's not the same thing as a pre term labor ( which happens while the baby is still alive). My prayers go out to you and your family.
