It seems that MANY questions I see on here are what I would expect to come right off of a homework list...what happened to checking for yourself????

In my homework days we all asked the booksmart kid who actually did his homework for the answers. Seems Yahoo Answers has taken all of the indignant requests and bribes of chocolate milk during lunch for the homework answers out of the equation.

Really the amount of questions being asked that require no research at all bothers me - kids can't be bothered to type in a keyword in a yahoo or google search anymore?

Good question Jade. I teach college history. I really don't care how my students access and learn the information, as long as they make the effort to find out the answers. Many of these questions come from kids in middle school or high school.
I enjoy helping them. It shows some initiative to get on this site and sort through the answers. There are some very intelligent, knowledgeable people on this site - asking and answering.
It seems to be a good resource for kids doing homework.
Hopefully they are reading our answers carefully and learning some of the information they get from our input.

hi... i was given a 2hr after school detention last week for not handing in my homework on time! My punishment was sitting in a classroom, writing lines for two hours after school, fair?

what if ppl hav dun this already, but r stuggling to find the answer? this may be their last option, and without they would fail. if they fail then they can't go to college and if they can't go to college then they can't get a good job, cant support themselves, mooch off their parents and then eventually get into drugs and die. and why? because you wouldnt offer them the time of day to answer a simple question they needed help with.
