The 2nd World War refers to the great war fought between 1939 and 1945, with Germany, Italy and Japan (Axis Powers) on one side and USA, USSR, England, France and many other countries(Allied Powers) on the other side. Though the Axis Powers had caused great damages in the initial stages, they were ultimately defeated. The formation of the UNO and the start of the 'cold war' may be included among the consequences of the War.
