Yes, and what's really cute is that most of those they control... think they're in charge of their own lives.
LOL! ...Funny.

Not exactly the rich.
The people who control our society are rich, but they are rich because they control our society not the other way around. If somebody earns their wealth on the free market making voluntary transactions with customers, then they are justifiably rich. However, if somebody earns their money through government (such as the military-industrial complex or by benefiting from the Federal Reserve's Inflation Tax), then they have basically stolen their wealth and they are unjustifiably wealthy.
Capitalism is not a bad system, provided that it is genuine Capitalism, not fake Capitalism, also known as Mercantilism. Under genuine Capitalism, everybody must earn their wealth through voluntary trade. Under Mercantilism, most of the people who get wealthy will do so because of government giving them their money.
Obviously, the people who control the society will get wealthy in a society with a "mixed-market" economy. They will use government to get their wealth for them. However, they do not have a genuine right to the money they have and should just give it away.
It is not the rich that control our society. It is simply the people who control our society that get rich more often than not.
