Realistically or fantasy-listically?

You can fantasize about River Oaks, but there aren't many houses for sale there. Memorial covers a wide area and has many upscale houses for sale. Zip code 77024 is the wealthiest in Houston (Memorial area). There's West U, which is quite nice. You can go just outside city limits to parts of Sugar Land.

Oh, in America we spell the word, "neighborhood."

that depends on so many different factors!! do you want to live there? buy a property that will increase in value? do you want to be out in the burbs or have a more urban lifestyle? do you want to walk to places or would like to have some drive time?

river oaks is the most exclusive area in houston. memorial is next. southhampton/west u 3rd. as far as good areas, heights would be the next best, then oak forest or garden oaks, esp if you want to resell in a couple years. bellaire is nice as well. those areas are all houston proper.

if you want suburbs, sugarland/missouri city, katy and the woodlands are the big ones. honestly, houston is so big that living in the burbs here is not like living in suburbs of other major cities. you are not connected to the city at all. it's a completely different lifestyle.
