Im soooo sick of them hiding behind the excuse of 'its cuture and tradition" or some crap. I personally think they should be sent to jail and perhaps even able to be given the DEATH PENALTY in a court of law....(if Japan had it).
You dont just kill a animal as intelligent as dolphins and whales. If its not stoped then these people need severe consequences!!

People killing for survival is completely different.I think your right there should be punishment.The only way to stop it is awarness.Hopefully the right people will realize whats going on and do something.The Japenese are going to have to be pursuaded to stop this.Its completely uncalled for.

Were you also proposing that the Intuit and those tribes that have traditionally lived off hunting whales be given the death penalty?
I think people intelligence needs to be factored in also so you "don't just kill an animal as intelligent as " whale hunters. Your solution sounds kind of extreme.

I've just recently seen the video of this on youtube. Yea it may be sad, and yea dolphins are quite damn intelligent as humans. No one is stopping the US from killing cows, chickens and so on. Plus the Japanese are using the meat for food, their skin for clothing..being very resourceful of what they use. We can't stop it though, that's what they're use to. Yea the video was pretty damn brutal watching how they sliced the dolphins and letting it suffocate and bleed to death slowly and very painfuly. I think it would seem less brutal in a way if they killed them instantly like we kill cows in the US. One shot to the head with a ram gun and they're out..like the way they kill cows (I've worked at Tyson before). But we can't stop them from what they're doing. Just like vegetarians could never stop us from eating meat...it's not like people are killing them just to kill them. They actually eat the dolphin and whale meat. Here in the US we kill cows...we don't waste the left overs, we use their hides to make leather. We kill and eat chicken. Alot of people in Asia raise chicken to take care of them as pets..and they eat them to. Just because something seems inhumane to one group of people, it's not going to seem inhumane to another.

well then, if you put it that way the beef industry should shut down as some cultures regard cows as sacred.
(by the way, there are other countries that do whaling and whose whaling techniques are as "brutal" as japan's...why only single out one country, hmm?)
