Alot of guys I know are "Dennis John" or "Donald Joseph" and go by DJ. If you want to give real names for JT, you might want to try John Thomas, or Jacob Taylor/Tyler Personally, I LOVE the nickname RJ, but I think JW sounds a little tacky. Like I said before, DJ is very common, and JD's are starting to pop up all over the place now.

I quite dislike the practice in general, to be honest.

Don't get me wrong ... I can completely understand if they use a family name, need a nickname not already in use, and happen to like the initials. For example, if John Robert IV comes along, and he already has Great-grampa John, Grampa Jack and Dad Johnny, by all means call the child J.R. (if it appeals)! ;)

But I really dislike when I see something like "We want an A name and a J name so we can call him A.J." It's a shame when so much emphasis is placed on just the beginning letters that no one has any clue as to the child's actual given name by the time they reach kindergarten. Trust me ... my 1st-grader already knows her share of children "named" J.C., J.T., J.R., A.J., etc., and even I couldn't tell you her little friends' real names. LOL

In other words, I don't at all mind the use of initials if it just happens, or if there's a special reason for it, but find the practice of choosing names JUST to give the desired initials quite odd.

My friends call me LP. My first name is Lauren, last name is Payne. I've known a JP, JT, TJ, and a PJ. I tend to like the initial names, because they stick out and are a kind yet unique nickname for someone with a very common name, usually a John or Joseph or Thomas.

I only like them for a nickname, I think the child should have a given name though that isnt just initials.... for a nickname I like RJ, TJ and AJ!

I too knew a girl that was LP (Laura Phillips)and my brother is JP (Jon-Paul). People always remember them! I was just Jp's little sister. I don't so much like all the JT, DJ, TJ etc. Kind of overused.

I've known an R.J., but not a J.T. or J.W.
My friends son is named Johnathan Daniel and goes by J.D. which i think is cute. Some other initials people go by are A.J.(a little overused I think), D.J., M.J.(Spidey's gal). That's all I can think of!

RJ is overused, JT is definitely good, JW seems awkward.

I like JP a lot. I know someone named Jon Paul and he goes by JP.

RJ is decent, JT is okay and JW is what I call Jehovah's Witnesses. Nix the 3rd.

RJ is fine
JT is not my favorite
JW reminds me of the Marriot family.

I've also heard CC - which I quite like - AJ, CJ - also nice. And I've come across JD, which is okay.
