Hmmmm...
My ex did some dastardly things to me which included taking my children.
Freedom from him was a happy event.
Freedom from being a full time mom is horrible and sad.
So, I guess it's "who" we are freeing ourselves from that can lead to happiness?

Freedom means different things to different people. To detach from individuals does not necessarily lead to happiness. The word "freedom" implies responsibility for our actions and our deeds .The idea that in order to be happy, one must be free of others is not viable. We all depend on others to contribute to our happiness. If one were free of their children for example, or their family and friends I very much doubt that it would bring one happiness,

YES, not a total freedom which would disallow closeness to others, but that freedom which exist, - that you are born with and have the right to manifest in life, as much as it is allowed!

Yes, if it is freedom from those that fill your life with negative energy, you need postive people in your life to add to the energy to move forward and away from the negatives!!
