My boss is conducting a research study on the relevance of some factors to producing quality graduates. by quality he means graduates that bring honor to the school where he came from. my question is this: how do passing licensure exams and competency exams, and employment influence the production of "quality graduates"? answers from school administrators and related personnel are most welcome :-)

There are a number of measures of Quality from education. My first is quality of the education which would include grades obtained as well a diversity in the education experience. How broad was your selection of elective classes.
The second would be what you do with the education you have. Using it to help others which would include helping society improve itself, helping other students succeed in their studies, and helping the less fortunate.

The schools seem to know how to filter it all out. They are talent scouts.

Harvard tapped Bill Gates, the ONLY modern day entreperneur. There hasn't been anyone like him since the late 1800s.

USC tapped George Lucas and he donated ALL his old equipment to that school.

They also tapped John Carpenter.

Sarah Lawrence tapped Martin Scorsese

Top schools smell winners. They smell blazing stars.

How many blazing stars came from Calfornia State university Northrdige or SUNY Cortland..

It's a mutual competition. A competition to get into a school and a competition to let them in.

And you have to do real good to stay once you are in.

Condoleeze Rice was homeschooled half her life and then Catholic School educated and she got into Notre Dame and she's a Black Baptist.

Notre Dame does not take just anyone, how did they smell her out!

They passed over a Red Headed, Irish Catholic Boy or girl to let her in.

Harvard turned away 1,200 kids with PERFECT SAT scores this year.

Yet they are known for letting in someone with a less than perfect SAT, a less than perfect GPA just because they come from Harlem or the tundra in Alaska. And starting next year Harvard will wave tuition for these types of people.

That is how DESPERATE HARVARD IS to find those with the RIGHT STUFF.

Harvard, Yale, Duke, they're not fools.

They leave behind the upper middle class and richs ones who have enough money to pay for a Gurrilla SAT prep. That's a $15,000 four week intensive study in HOW to pass the SAT perfectly.

They seek out the natural talents. And they do it better than anyone else.
