Try to narrow down what exactly is creating the most stress for him. Once you know what is causing the stress you might be able to alleviate some of the it. For instance: 1) Does he have too much to do and not enough time to do it? Help him out by doing more of the routine household tasks to allow him to focus on his studies and then spend his precious study breaks decompressing. 2) Is the material too difficult? This one is tough. If he is having a difficult time comprehending the material then he may need to get a tutor. Sometimes just having a different person explain a concept can clear up misunderstanding. Once again, the best way you can help him is by providing him as much time as possible to focus on his studies and allowing him some decompression time.

By the way, if he doesn't already do it; exercise is a great decompressor. Typically, though, students go for 12 oz. cans of "liquid decompression".

School really sucks all your time and energy away for 2 years. It's really cool that you're trying to do something nice for your husband- I'm sure that it's hard for YOU too, having him be stressed and all.

I'd recommend finding a good time (this could be tough) and plan a weekend away with him and some other couples from his class. It will give you some alone time, plus it might tie the two worlds- of marriage and school together for everyone. Bringing other couples might make him less stressed about taking off from the world of school when others are not- and hopefully the weekend will remind everyone how enjoyable it can be to do things outside of school! And you get new friends out of the deal too.

You'll make it through. 2nd year is much easier on everyone!!

Be supportive of him. There is nothing else you can do to make him feel better, except be the loving woman that he married. Show him you care, offer to help him study, give him a massage before he goes to bed. If you're running errands, get him something unexpected (his fave pop, or whatever). I used to go out and buy my hubby smokes & a pizza while he would study. He really appreaciated it. Good luck to him in school!
