When they see themselves as a good person.
"Good" is too subjective.
In the end, self-perception is what matters most.

In your opinion, what makes someone a good person?
Being :
Kind, helpful, caring, understanding, patient, and loving are some of the words that come to mind when asked to list the qualities of a good person. One usually knows a person is good by what they do, such as performing thoughtful deeds.

There are many things that make a person "good." Keep in mind that this somewhat subjective, but IMO here are some pointers on trying to be a good person.
1. Understand yourself as best you can. Try to be objective and identify your strengths and weaknesses. Try to be humble, we all have flaws.
2. Try to understand others and their motivations, as objectively as you can. Don't be quick to judge others, and try to follow the "Golden Rule."
3. Communicate with others. Listen first, then respond thoughtfully. Try to address the needs of others as well as your own.
4. KEEP A SENSE OF HUMOR!!!
5. Be charitable with your time and money, to the extent you can.
Bottom line: A good person leaves the world in better shape than when he or she entered it.

If someone is willing to help or be there for another person with total disregard to personal gain or benefit. A good person likes other people and can place him/her self in their position and feel for them.
Being good has nothing to do with religious beliefs. A good person is not good solely for the reason that he/she fears God, or that some religious book says you have to be good.

I think a good person is someone that cares for other people. And they don't judge other people on how they look or act.

A person who loves all others so much that that person is inclined to support the better welfare of those others.
A good example would be the story of Jesus and his death on the cross. If you believe that Jesus suffered so that others wouldn't have to he would be a good person. Gandhi and his non violent protesters fit in as good people. They gave of themselves so that they and future generations could benefit. A good person defends the wrongfully persecuted even if they become persecuted themselves. The people who defended homosexuals before homosexuality became widely accepted where good indivuals.

i think there are lots of things in being a good person; be honest and aboveboard with people respect others and respect yourself. do not gossip do not tell secrets that someone has asked you not to. be loyal to friends. be polite and care about the feelings of others ..learn to listen really listen to peoples problems and show that you care and will be there to support family and friends. most of all smile and be polite.

What is your definition of good? What context are you using the word in? I mean if the devil decides to spare someones life is he good? The people who believe in Islam think they are doing good by killing Americans and Christians, those that are non-Islamic, cause they are the devil. They did a good deed from their perspective.

If this person does good deeds, is nice, helps out and has there own personality, i would call that a good person
