I really abhor this place (I'm at a college all by myself). I mean I can't even explain, I wouldn't have enough room. But I'm leaving thankfully in December. I'm so0o depressed that I have to stay this long here. I tried to get out in the meantime, make some friends, uplift my spirits, but something terrible happens to me everytime I try. So I stay to myself to avoid problems, and now I feel incredibly lonely and depressed and so fed up. I don't know what to do, can anyone help? :(

I know that right now a month seems like forever. But it would probably help you to keep reminding yourself that this is a temporary problem. Once this month of purgatory is over, you'll be gone, and you'll never have to look back again. Every day, keep telling yourself, "I'm one day closer to leaving this place." Maybe consider keeping a calendar in your room as a motivational tool. Every day that passes, cross off the day on your calendar. That way you'll have a visual to remind you that you are continually progressing toward the end.

Hang in there! You'll make it.

Wow--that's too bad. I've been to a lot of places and made friends everywhere. I would say to keep trying to make friends, but if you're only going to be there one more month, I would suggest phone calls and the Internet to communicate with people back home--wherever that may be. Though, I would still try to be friendly toward the people where you're at now.

Stay away from your place..only go there to sleep. Good ways to make friends is to join a club or organization of something you are interested in, if in a college town maybe take a fun informal class. Don't stress...before you know it you will be moving your stuff out and excited about your new place!

You can help; you don't need anyone else.

You are a short timer, you will be home soon. Think of that.

It's up to you how you feel, if you don't like depression...don't allow yourself to indulge in it.

Think...HAPPY!
