I know sometimes things might not be fair. A child doesn't choose everything about their own lives.

How did you grow up?

For me. I grew up young and protected. Always had my dad's eye on me. He was always there financially but as I grew up he became less attached.

My childhood was wonderful yet sheltered. Even though I grew up with 3 MUCH older brothers they were out on their own by the time I remember. So I was raised as an "only" child.

Spoiled and loved! Well mannered and southern groomed. Daddy's little girl and Mamma's big helper!

I loved my childhood as much as I love my adulthood.

Thank you slo, for asking this question that helped me take a glance back in my memories of childhood days.

A kiss and a star to you, my friend!

It wasn't the greatest life and I know things could have been better, but I also know somebody out there had it worse than me.
My dad was an alcoholic and didn't live with us. My mom always seemed to busy with other things and we kind of did whatever kept us occupied. When I was 16 and got a babysitting job, I was told I could buy my own clothes and needs.
I did learn responsibility at a younger age than some and in ways, that was good.

My mother was a single parent, young...hard working...putting herself through college...but I always got what I wanted for x-mas...always felt loved and happy...I don't think I would be who I am today if my dad had a part in my life...my mom was my everything.

well, i didn't have a bad childhood. honestly, i didn't realize the extent to which my past would have on me until high school. too naive. i was always quiet and reserved. but, i was more happy. more carefree. i did a lot more activities such as dance. yes, my parents were protective. the older i got the less attention they gave me.
