I just had a baby boy that we named Cash Corbell. We were looking for a country name and we're big fans of Johnny Cash. It was my husband's idea, and I struggled with it for a while until I finally gave in. I'm liking it more and more each day, but I'm worried that I'll regret naming him this in the future. In the 2 wks since he was born, we've learned that people either love it, or hate it.
What's your opinion? Do you like it? I'm curious to know what other people think.

Corbell is his last name. Sorry, some people were thinking that's his middle name.
His middle name is Phillip, after his late grandfather.

I like it! I think its REALLY cute!
Cash Corbell. Is Corbell the last name or middle name?
I had a friend once who's last name was hughes, and his first name was cash. I feel bad for him. He's cashews.
Anyway, I love the name so much that I'm considering stealing it for my child. Cash Corbell. It rolls off the tongue nicely. Plus, I love Johnny Cash.
GOOD CHOICE

I think that while you have the right to name your child whatever you want, you should also consider their future when naming them. If you can envision that name going with any profession they might choose, then I think you've made a good choice. A lot of people give their kids weird spelled names like "Kayzleane" or "Chaleighe' " (these are real names) and don't even think about how that would look on a business card: "Kayzleane Jones, Attorney at Law" or "Kayzleane's Plumbing". At least "Cash" has the advantage of being pronounceable on sight, and in many places, people will associate the name with Johnny Cash rather than with paper money.

It's unusual but I like it. Don't worry about what others think. And frankly, it's very rude for people to tell you they hate the name, especially after the boy is born. Point that out to people when they say it. You'll get used to his name and learn to love it once his personality starts to develop. That will happen a lot sooner than you expect. Enjoy your little Cash. I had Cash on my list of boy names but it just won't go w/ our last name and my husband isn't as adventurous as I'd like. Girl names are a lot easier.

Honestly, i don't like it. If maybe we were in the 70's it would be more liked, but today with all the rif-raf we have Cash just sounds kind of thuggish i guess you say. But i can see a pretty side to the name. I would name my child Cash if i knew people could look at that name the way i can, but the fact is, is that is not what comes to mind when they first hear it. Good Luck!!

I think that Cash Corbell is very cool and by no mean too weird.
He'll probably grow up to be famous and then everyone will be copying you!
:)
don't worry so much. The name is special to you. You can always call him Philip if you change your mind about the name, but I think that Cash is awesome and it will grow on everyone including you!

Yes and no.
I actually think it's an intriguing nickname for something like Cassius or even a less literal option such as Castor, Casper, Caspian or Casimir, but I'd never use the actual word "cash" as a given name any more than I would "money," "dollar," "credit" or "buck." It just seems quite insubstantial, especially when there ARE formal options available.

I think that if you both like it and it means something to you, who cares what other people think.
Cash Corbell sounds like he will be a real ladies man in 20 years or so. Kind of laid back and cool.

Congratulations on your baby boy!!!! As long as you and your husband are good with the decision then that is whats most important.
However, I like it. It is unique and you probably won't have to worry about 3 or 4 boys in his class with the same name. He has a name of distinction. Good for you for breaking away from the norm.
