As a conservative I'm disgusted with the field of candidates.
Rudy is completely backwards on some real critical issues like he is pro abortion most cons are at least pro choice and mostly anti abortion.
Anti gun and cons are generally pro guns and I am not sure where he stands on illegal immigrants and how forcefully he would come down on Sanctuary Cities. I would cut every Penny of federal money to them.
Thompson should have come out like he was on fire yet I can barely tell he's in the race.
As for the rest they are very boring.

I think a lot of people are living in the past looking at Reagan. Reagan is gone and they need to look toward the future. They wanted Thompson to be Reagan and he isn't. Instead of looking for a past leader look at the options now and pick the best (that would be McCain). I have heard several pundits talk about Reaganesque (sp?) qualities and while doing so down talk their own party, this is not good.

I don't think either party is over enthused at who is running this time. I also believe this is not going to be a strong turn out on election day.

I think you're about right.

Rudy and Romney are not going to motivate the base. RINOs both.

Ron Paul is too much of a classic conservative to get real traction - besides he said the USA was actually culpable in creating the possibility of 9/11 which is a big no-no.

Huckabee could get the evangelicals moving, after the last 7 years I think he would alienate the middle and push them toward the Dems.

McCain seems to have burned out - and again I think he is too much of a centrist for this Republican party. Not a RINO like Romney, but not extreme enough either. Plus he has been adamant about continuing the war and the American kiddies have grown tired of that show.

Fred who?

As a Republican I can honestly say there isn't a candidate that I can fully support. It seems I'm always voting for the lesser of two evils. I do hope we get some other candidates to run than the ones that have already thrown their hats into the ring.

I think there is some division in the Republican party just like in the Democrat party.

I'm not happy with the "front runners"

Neither are my "Liberal" friends with Hillary.

I personally like Huckabee and McCain.

I think a lot of the problem is they shoved the candidates in our face so early.
The primaries are still a couple of months away. I think there are several that will start to shine.

On the same token, I've talked to many democrats that aren't too impressed with their candidates either.

There are a lot of highly qualified candidates to choose from on the Republican side and we are still summing up everyone of them individually.

We remain open minded.

"Not completely happy" sounds about right, but there is lot's of time still. I don't even WANT to know all of all the candidates' positions yet. The election is still 12 months away and I don't want to get burned out by it all.

I still think Fred's the man.

It does seem odd that there is no real front-runner, doesn't it? You would think that the Republicans on here would be touting one or another, but to me it seems they are only focusing on who they DON'T want: Hillary.
