Women, how would you feel if your child called another woman mommy?

It is just another name. I have always called several women close to me mom....it is just a term of endearment. If it bothers you, correct your child to what you want your child to call the other person.

I am not a mother, but i do work with small kids. One day a mother came to pick up her 18 month old daughter and the daughter pointed at me and called me mama. i could see that her really hurt her mother. i think its because i have had the child since she was 6 weeks old and i have her 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday. I see more of these children than their parents do! i do ask for family pictures and if a child does call me mama i show them the pic and i say " no i am miss cara and that is your mama"

Horrible.

I never EVER called anyone my mom that wasn't my mom. I only have 1 mom who is now in Heaven.

I grew up in foster homes, lots of foster homes and no matter how close I was to one of them I would not call them mom.
